Children, Adolescents, and Families
My approach is interactive, but soft spoken. Like with adults, a good and trusting therapeutic relationship is the essential key to a successful outcome. Over the last 30 years, I have developed the skills to listen to and engage children and adolescents so that they will talk to me about their lives and their concerns, thereby joining in the collaborative process of change. |
If a child or adolescent chooses to come to therapy or is asked to come by a parent, the child knows that something is not working in their life. I create a safe environment in which a child or adolescent can explore their thoughts and feelings about the concerns that have brought them to therapy.
Over the last 30 years, I have developed the skills to listen to and engage children and adolescents so that they will talk to me about their lives and their concerns, thereby joining in the collaborative process of change. At times, this therapy is maximized by parental work and/or family therapy. Family therapy is a safe environment where individuals can learn ways to resolve family conflicts, strengthen sibling relationships, and solidify the bond between parent and child.
